Greetings this Sunday after Thanksgiving! How did you all survive the turkey dinner, the drive, the time with family?? I hope it was a good and memorable time! Not much longer and the Christmas and New Year's holidays will be upon us.
The weekend after Thanksgiving has been a time marking several landmarks in my life. I was married the Wednesday night before Turkey Day. Then my divorce was hastened by the time of Thanksgiving several years later. I bought my small farm and moved in the weekend of TG. I have been here 10 years now. Then a few years later I adopted my beloved Great Pyrenees, Emily, on TG weekend. I dont know what it all means but it always reminds me to be Thankful for the milestones in my life, the ones that have made me who I am.
I am bringing to you another 8 x 8 oil painting on canvas of a lovely brown spaniel of some type. This was inspired by a photo I took at an agility trial. I thought he had a sweet way about him. I am still nurturing my looser style with these. Having fun with them and I hope you like them too! I am available to paint one of your best friends, human or animal. Let me know if I can ever be of service to you!

Week 17 An Oldie but a Goodie

Welcome to my weekly Blog. If this is your first time visiting it, Q-7, in medical lingo means every 7 days. Since my background is planted firmly in the medical field that is my area of reference. So what better way to title this endeavor. :)
My painting this week is an earlier work done in Colored Pencil. This dog's name is Maggie. My friend JoAnne, who is a small animal Veterinarian was brought Maggie by some good Samaritans that heard her whimpering--at the dump--in a plastic bag. She had been shot and tossed away like trash.... Dr. JoAnne, took her in and has loved her and worked with her for years now. She did require an amputation of one of her front legs, and now gets around with a cart that she can power by her back legs. She has been the mascot of the Animal Hospital for years. I was so touched by her story that I wanted to create a painting of her and here is the result. JoAnne would wheel her around in this wagon. She goes to work with her, goes swimming and has a good life now!
I hope you enjoy this painting and Thanks for visiting my Q-7 painting Blog!! It is your weekly dose of Fine Art!! Remember, It's Good For You!!!

Week 16

Happy Sunday! Hoping you all had a good week! Here is another 8 x 8 oil on canvas. He is a rescue dog with a most interesting face (and ears!!) I wish I could remember his name. I do remember he was skittish and very cautious, always keeping an eye out for things. Never did let me pet him.
Had several ideas for titles of the painting--"A Face only a Mother could love", "Keep smiling", "Did you hear that?" and more.
Enjoy and have a great week ahead! Thanks for checking in :)

Week 15--a milestone!

Well, as the saying goes--"Better late than never"! Here is a small, 8 x 8, oil on canvas, work in progress. Trying for a looser style. I have needed a little break from the realistic, finely detailed works I usually create. I have been enjoying working on some oils.
This last week I joined an art co-op. My regular/day job has been so all time consuming I decided this may be a good tactic. This way my work isnt sitting home in my drawers and spare bedrooms and people may actually see it. It is a lovely little place in Belleview called Gallery East. Wish me Luck!! It is a small town near the growing area known as the Villages.
Sorry so short but must get ready for the day job. Have a great week everyone!!

Week 14

Wow, this has been a challenging week. Wasn't sure I would be able to post a new painting, but I have one---almost completed. This is a very classy gentlemen named Rumplestiltskin, or Rum. I get the opportunity to take care of him when his owner, my friend, goes out of town. He is a handsome, big guy that has taken several riders toward their goals, I am thinking of you too, Jackie!!
Haven't painted in oils in a very long time and was wondering if I could still do it. I am so enjoying this! I would say I have another day or so to finish this.. This is an 8 x 10 on canvas, soon to go to Rumple's owner.
Have a great week everyone! See you next week! And thank you for checking in for your weekly dose of fine art!!

Lucky 13

Today I had the pleasure of going to the Ocala Arts Festival, more commonly known as FAFO--
Fine Art For Ocala. The talent was incredible as always! Saw some of my facebook friends and then some--Sharon Crute, Jacki Schindehetti(?), Maggie and Kent Weakly, then met some new artists.
I went with a lovely friendI met through work. This friend had a recent loss of a beloved dog named Pebbles. I am honoring Pebbles as my Q-7 painting blog subject. I recieved a phonecall from my friend's father expressing appreciation--Wow! This IS what it is all about!!
I hope you all have a wonderful, healthy and safe week ahead! And thanks again for tuning in to your weekly dose of fine art! It is soooo good for you!

Here is a sample of one of my new watercolors. I haven't worked in this medium for YEARS! Lately I have been really enjoying applying the translucent layers of paint to create something that positively glows!! This one didn't need any colored pencil to finish it off.
This is a photo of George, a young thoroughbred foal bred by a previous co-worker. I took many photos of him and his mother, Penny, years ago. I believe it was my first photo shoot with my new (at the time) Cannon 30D. George went on to be trained and raced and is still racing, as far as I know. You will more than likely see more paintings of George!
This little Thoroughbred foal painting is posted in honor of Secretariat! I was so blessed to have watched all 3 races of the Triple Crown, on TV as a kid growing up in Illinois. I think I was the only horse-crazy kid I knew of. I am so glad that this American Hero finally has a movie to commemorate him!! I am dying to see the movie!!
One of my prized possessions is a gliclee of Secretariat painted by and given to me by Bob Judy. It has a place of honor in my studio and I look at it frequently for reference and inspiration! Bob Judy passed away this year. One day I may dedicate a blog entry to him.
I hope you have had a good week and thanks for checking in for your weekly follow up appointment! Here is your weekly dose of Fine Art. Remember, it's good for you! :)

Week 11

Hi All!
I hope you all had a healthy week and had a little bit of fun! I had an opportunity to play outside with my puppy Winston a few times, so that made my week!! Our weather here in Ocala is becoming wonderful! We Floridians can start going outside--comfortably!
There have been some interesting times in the news. Has anyone had a chance to watch the
World Equestrian Games? Fortunately there has been some television coverage and also an opportunity to watch online too.
I have been trying to practice gratitude. It is amazing how many things we take for granted. I know that I am so grateful to live where I live. Beautiful tree lined shady lanes and last night on my way home I saw a fox and an owl. How cool is that?!
I had a chance to create a small watercolor and colored pencil drawing of another cute little foal. They are addicting! This one will be added to my "Fun, Framed, Little Originals" album on my Facebook business page. I also need to add all of these to Etsy and maybe Cafe press too!
I hope you all have a safe and joyful week ahead! Thanks for checking in for your weekly dose of Fine Art! Remember, it's good for you!!

Week #10 Wow!!

I am presenting you with an oldie but a goodie! I call this Cross Country Impressions. This piece is again another salute to the W.E.G. This is a pastel on suede mattboard, 8 x 10.
This last week brought another First Friday ArtWalk in downtown Ocala. I had an excellent location and there were tons of people! I was in front of a lovely Boutique called Aurora. Save for a small 'act of God', where the wind decided to play dominoes with my paintings, it was a very nice night!! I am having less anxiety with these little public displays and hopefully am starting to establish myself as an Ocalan artist! Thank you to my 2 Angels that helped me--Denise and Tammy!!
Sitting here on this Sunday morning, with the doors open and drinking my coffee. We are finally starting to come in to my favorite time of the year!! Cooler air, less humidity! Now is the time that Floridians start going outside!! Festivals and horseshows abound from this time till around May!
I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead and thank you all so much for following my
Q-7 painting Blog! It is an honor to bring it to you each week!!
Remember to tune in next week for you Weekly dose of Fine Art!! It's good for you!!

Hi all! So sorry about last week's missed entry! I am afraid that life got in the way. I am presenting a graphite drawing/study of a painting I did last year. This was from a picture I took last year at my friend Donna's home. This is Chloe, Bella and Moses. This is approximately 8 x 10 on graph paper. Please go to my Etsy shop if this drawing speaks to you! It would be a one of a kind gift for the dog lover in your life! Have a safe and healthy week ahead!

Good morning! This little 3 x 4 inch, framed colored pencil beauty is my little Winston at about 10 weeks old. At the present moment he is wet (toweled off!) and wanting to be as affectionate and cute as he can be!! Nice!.... He starts Puppy Kindergarten this week on Mondays and Wednesdays. I am looking forward to it!
I hope this has been a good week for everybody! I have been pretty busy with a large piece of artwork that is definitely out of my comfort zone--but having a blast with it. It is so fun to be able to work with a whole array of colors vs the more traditional animal colors. I will share it on my website www.bobbiedeuell.com and on my facebook business page when I am done.
This little painting will be for sale in my Etsy shop, as are the others displayed on this blog. Please go and check them out. I have reduced sale prices on everything!!!!! http://www.etsy.com/shop/bdfineart Posted by Picasa

Another week has gone by.....

I am checking in for my weekly painting for you. This is a 3.5 x 3.5 inch colored pencil painting, framed. It is already to hang in your home or to give as a gift to your horse/dressage lover! Just think, with $100 you could have your Christmas gift in the bag in one step!

I used to work exclusively in colored pencil. It is a very fun medium with little set up or clean up. It was the first thing I started with in 2001 when I returned to artwork after a 20+ year of doing none. I took to it so easily, but also had a great instructor, Lynn Hershberger. Fun times!!! I would say it was the fastest 2 hours in the week!

I hope you enjoy this little piece and please contact me if you are interested in purchasing it or commissioning me for an original piece of artwork of your loved one--person or animal ;)

Week 5

Welcome! This is my 5th installment for my weekly paintings. Hope you all had a healthy and happy week!
To go along with my "Impressions" theme from last week here you have
Cowboy Impressions. A very loose and hopefully dynamic smaller piece. . It is
a pastel, 8 x 10 on suede. It is fun to go a little looser when you are used to creating rather tight, detailed pieces. I want to do some more of these covering the different disciplines in Equine Sports. The WEG is coming up and I may call these my tribute to it! Wish I was able to go to it!!!
I have been on fire with my paintings lately! I am working on a large Dressage piece at the moment. You can see it's progress on my other blog--http://bdfineartstudio.blogspot.com
Was contacted by a facebook friend about a painting of a mutual friend of ours. It is a fabulous dynamic photograph of a local female jockey riding in the Lady Legends race at Pimlico. Won't say too much until some details can be ironed out! I'll keep you posted!
See you next week, for your Weekly Dose of Fine Art--remember, it's good for you!!

I am available to create a commisioned piece of Original Artwork for you!
The holidays are coming, don't wait too long!

I am so excited! This is my third entry! Week #3 of my Q-7 painting blog. I got to work on the sweetest painting of the equally sweetest dog! Her name is Alice and she is a Boxer owned by a good friend of mine, Andi. I love her expressions! I hope you all enjoy her as well.

I hope everyone has had a good week! There has sure been a heat wave here in the south. This is the type of weather that keeps me in the studio. When the winter comes it is hard to stay inside because the weather becomes more enjoyable and Florida comes to life! There are art shows, festivals, horse shows, dog events, you name it! I am ready!!

This painting of Alice is 9 x 14, pastel on suede mattboard. It was one of those paintings that just came together quickly! I LOVE it when that happens!! And she is now SOLD! I really love it when that happens !!n ;)

Welcome!

I am a busy professional woman. I have known little else than the medical field my entire adult life. Therefore it is only natural that my frame of reference derives vernacular and abbreviations from it. In medical terminology Q or q represents the word every. Thus lies the background of this blog title. I am proposing to create a painting a week, or every 7 days, for the next year. That's 52 paintings/drawings in various media consisting of mostly animals but not limited to that. (I enjoy the occasional landscape and still life and person!)

My desire is to shake up and generate some interest in my art business! I have researched and followed several daily painters. Though I greatly admire their self discipline and perseverance
I know that is too much of a commitment this commitment-phobe can promise to. Plus working full time uses up many brain cells that are becoming more precious as the years go by ;) I did think that surely I could create something every week! And here lies the seedling of my new branch!

All of these will be for sale! My goal is that most will be under $200. Oh yes, I am available for commissioned portraits of all sizes, complexity and prices. Now is the time to think about the Holidays!! ;)

Once again, Welcome!! Hope to see you often! I plan to crosspost on facebook and to open an Etsy and/or Ebay store too. If you see something you like please email me at:
